The Growing Hatred
Thursday, December 22, 2011
There is a growing hatred for Jews and Christians in the United States. There has always been tension between believers and their counterparts. In the past, that friction was limited to debate and in most cases, was civilized or at least tolerant.
Forty years ago church attendance was considered a universal good. Even so-called atheists saw value in the Christian ethos of love thy neighbor. Society was governed by the ten commandments, the prohibition of theft, murder, adultery, lying, and covetousness were all seen as proper rules to live by. So Christian and atheist lived together under an implied truce. The benefits of Christian principle cemented society in mutual respect. The golden rule, which was taught by Christ, was held as honorable, and accepted as common sense.
The sixties changed all that. The banishment of prayer from public schools under the guise of Constitutional fairness set the stage for the virulent animosity of today. God’s exile from public life ensured that children would stand alone against the future. Reliance on a power outside themselves now became taboo. Overnight, Christianity became the enemy of all things American. Never in America’s history had religion been treated with such disdain. Expressions of faith, prayer and sharing your experience of God had become anathema.
Following the banishment of God from public discourse came another evil that at once validated self-sovereignty and declared human life valueless. This juxtaposed value system demanded the right of a woman to end the life of her unborn child. Without the restraint of a conscience tutored in the value of life, millions of women were encouraged to take part in the largest and most vicious holocaust the world has ever experienced. Millions of citizens were eliminated in the safety of the womb. The protection of the child was ignored, and the mother’s choice became the supreme object of control.
Once life lost its value, the next logical step was wanton violence. The cruelty exhibited by America’s youth is in direct correlation to the spiraling disregard for humanity. Humans are seen as nothing more than animals. That characterization is reinforced by the slaughter of innocence. The message to our youth is clear, they have no value. This constant message has created a psychosis that exhibits itself in violence. After all, if a child has no value in the womb it is not a stretch for our youth to conclude that no one has value outside of the womb.
Society has degenerated into aimlessness. With no outside spiritual influence to check man’s propensity for evil, America has become a darkening shadow. However, in the midst of this devolution of America, Christianity still teaches the sacredness of life and dependence on God, and the once congenial opposition has turned into a feral enemy. Christianity stands in the way of societies inexorable march toward darkness. The Church, and consequently the believer, is a constant irritant to the conscience of sovereign man. Once it becomes acceptable, the hateful words will turn to violence. The stage is already set. All things Christian are under attack from Christmas to public prayer. Billboards that denigrate Christ and lawsuits designed to ban expressions of the Christian religion are increasing. Once Christianity is sequestered, it will not be long before we see an end of the American experiment.
